Executive Committee Elections
MWRA is accepting nominations from the membership for vacancies on the MWRA Executive Committee.
Committee members work for the betterment of racquetball as a whole, and of the Maryland Washington Racquetball Association specifically. Committee members are expected to be involved in, and to have an interest in, growing the game at all levels: grassroots, recreationally and professionally. Prospective members of the Executive Committee should demonstrate a willingness to work toward the ideals of the Association and the sport.
Being a member of the Executive Committee of MWRA involves a considerable investment of time, energy and, occasionally, individual expense. Executive Committee members are expected to:
- Attend regular in-person meetings of the Association (approximately six per year, although other meetings may be convened as needed); in addition, conference calls are often held, should matters arise necessitating Executive Committee input
- Prepare for, participate in and do follow-up for, MWRA tournaments
- Assist as needed with communications with, and participation in, initiatives of USA Racquetball, the national governing body of racquetball in the United States.
- Perform other duties as required
Each term of the Executive Committee is three years in duration.
If interested, please submit your nomination to MWRA (MWRACom@MWRAweb.com). Nominations must be turned in by COB March 6, 2015.
In order to be considered for nomination to the Executive Committee, individuals should submit an email to MWRA (MWRACom@MWRAweb.com) detailing their interest and relating their qualifications for the position. Individuals may nominate themselves; nomination of others is not permitted, since it is required that every individual be aware of the nominations process and have a full understanding of what is involved in order for their name to be placed on the ballot.
